This is the 'Standard Solo' with the 3500 mm hydrostatic head waterproof fabric with the addition of the "Wedge" sewn in to allow you to convert the fly to an awning.  The Wedge is sewn to the left side of the fly and zips to the right side of the fly with a water resistant YKK Uretek zipper.  This allows you to convert the fly back and forth between Wedge and Standard Solo tent configuration.

1. Stake out the front and back tips of the tent so that the floor is just slightly taut.
2. Temporarily, stake out both sides of tent floor – the floor should be in a diamond shape.
3. Unzip the mesh door and sit inside on the floor of the tent with the ‘ceiling’ of the tent on top of your head.
4. Place both hiking poles extended to between 120 cm and 125cm handle first into the tent in front of you.
5. Insert one trekking pole tip into one side of the ridge pole.
6. Holding the ridge pole in one hand, raise it to ceiling, while sliding the handle of the trekking pole into position in the center of the side wall panel of the tent. There is Velcro to secure the ridge pole in place.
7. Slip the second trekking pole tip into the other end of ridge pole and while still holding the ridge pole at the ceiling, slide the second trekking pole handle to its position.
8. Extend both trekking poles to about 130 cm so that the tent body is taut. Make sure the ridge pole is centered in the ceiling and secured in place with velcro.
9. If there is any slack in the sidewalls of the tent, and you can’t lengthen the trekking poles, re-stake one tip of the tent in a little closer. (Shorten the distance between the 2 stakes).
10. Take out the two stakes in side corners of tent and use them to now stake out the fly. The fly will come all the way down to the ground. (You may use 2 other stakes and leave the corners staked down.)
11. There should be no pull lines or wrinkles in the floor when properly set up. Adjust the stakes as needed to get a flat surface.
12. In a heavy rain or high humidity, silnylon may have a tendency to stretch and sag a little. This is normal and will return to normal.
13. Extra tie outs on both the tent body and tent fly are provided. Extra tie out cord and stakes will be needed. These extra tie outs are useful in heavy wind and rain. The tie outs on the tent body (between the window mesh and bathtub floor) should be pulled out only about one inch, so that the bathtub wall is vertical. This will provide extra volume inside the tent at the head and feet.
17. To place the tent in STAR GAZING zip the fly closed, roll both sides of the fly up to sit on top of the ridge pole. They will stay up by tension only.
18. For the Wedge, There are two zippers on the fly, one is sewn almost on top of the other.  One is for the fly, one is for the wedge.  Unzip the fly and zip down the wedge.  Place the awning pole in the pocket at the tip of the wedge, adjust the placement of the pole so that the wedge is taut.  There is a tie out loop with a line lock at the top of the pole pocket that will need to be staked out.  When you unzip the wedge, to close the tent, you will need to move the stake and use it for the regular fly.
