Today my husband and I took our first hike on the Buckeye Trail for the season, and I wore the base layer shirt, fleece hoodie and the fleece skirt!!!!! I am surprisingly impressed with how warm my bootie stayed (it's currently Feb. in Ohio). The fleece and base layer shirt kept me very warm around my torso. I wore running/yoga pants under my skirt with Darn Tough knee-high hiking socks and with the wind blowing off a section of the lake the only thing really cold was my face. But the solution to that was putting the hoodie on the fleece shirt up and cinching it down a bit.
My husband was so impressed with the shirt that he has confiscated it from me (good thing it was a men's 2x size). But that means I get to order another fleece shirt to match the fleece skirt that I have. And the icing on the cake was the complement that my hubby gave to me as we were walking down the trail, "You look so cute hiking right now!"

I'm 5'7" and weight 200 pounds, so I'm not a small lady, and I might hike slower than some people, but I still get out there and I look "cute" doing it!!! Oh, another thing, I am 51 years old and proud of it!
One more thing before I go, the pockets on the skirt are great. It fits my I-Phone Pro-Max perfectly with room for a snack and that's just one pocket, imagine what you can do with the other one?!?! So, no matter how old or young you are, and no matter what you dress in or pack out, get out there and take a hike.....you will not regret it.
